wii balance boardSo you bought Wii Fit with the bundled Balance Board…  Now what?  You shouldn’t let that sweet peripheral is go to waste.  For quite a while, Nintendo fanboys and girls wondered whether third party developers would pickup on the odd Balance Board. There are now a bunch of Wii games coming out now that make use of the Balance Board.

Shaun White Snowboarding Road Trip

Want to snowboard on your Balance Board?  Shaun White Snowboarding should be the fix.  The game includes four different areas to board including Alaska, Park City, Europe, Japan.  It allows quite a bit of freedom to explore the slopes, create new paths through the hills, or do tricks in the park.  You play the noob in the game and Shaun White is your mentor.  You also have the ability to race your friends in the room with splitscreen multiplayer.

Skate It
Ready to become Thrasher Magazine’s Skater of the Year?  Jump on your Balance Board and get ready to skateboard.  In Skate It you first have to beat the best San Vanelona skateboarding spot.  After you master that you get sponsored by skate companies to travel the world to real-world skate locales.  The game allows you to move objects such as ramps, benches, and rails to your liking.

Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2009
Are you a big loser?  We are, but not the way you might think.  Wii Fit was more of a Japanese type of workout.  Many people wanted a more American style of cardio workout.  Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum gives you four fitness routine choices such as weight loss, Intervals, Strength Training, and Hill Climb.  The game gives you contol over the intensity and difficulty.  This is the first fitness game to hit the Balance Board since Wii Fit was released.  Users reviews on this game have been harder than Jillian Michaels on The Biggest Loser.  Sounds like the game might have a steep learning curve so review the game before purchasing.

Skate City Heroes
Another skateboarding game that slipped out November 24th, 2008 with little fanfare.  In Skate City Heroes you are able to choose from six different characters with their own strengths and weaknesses.  In the game you thrash through futuristic city over skyscrapers, between speeding trains, and modern factories.  The game also features four player local splitscreen multiplayer action.

We Ski
We Ski allows you to shred some snowy slopes with you me on the Wii Balance Board.  Characters includes your Mii or create and customize your own character in Wii Ski.  Players can earn points and get new gear including outfits, skis, and gloves.  It also features up to four player splitscreen for fun with your friends.  However, there is no option for online multiplayer.  This was the first game after Wii Fit to use the Balance Balance.  The game can also be controlled with the Wii Remote and nunchuck.
